Presentation of Titan/Noble Poker/CdPoker
So that they can offer sufficient poker action to their customers, a few recent online pokerrooms have decided to share the same software among the iPoker network.
The principal rooms of that network are Titan, NoblePoker and CdPoker. There is also poker770 which i wouldn't recommend as there have been so many complaints about this room as concerns cash out difficulties. I personally play on Titan and Noble.

Traffic
|
With a number of players comprised between 2 and 6,000, the iPoker network is still small and it's obviously its biggest flaw because it means you won't be able to find action at higher limits for hold'em or at any limit for any other variant.
As concerns SNGs, there will always be, for any buy in (from 1+0.2$ to 200+15$), a SNG in registration but they will be far less numerous than on party. That means that it will rarely be possible to play on 4-5 SNGs at the same time, and that, once you've registrated in a SNG, you will have to wait 1 or 2 minutes so that the tourney starts (=once the maximum number of players has been reached) whereas, on Party, it only takes a few seconds for 10 players to register in a single table SNG.
For beginners, these drawbacks are insignificant. On contrary, they will appreciate to be able to play 1 or 2 SNGs at a time for very small buy ins (starts with 1+0.2 compared to 5+1 on Party). This makes Titan and the other skins a good place to start online poker.
In cash games, the lower number of players makes it a bit harder to perform a good table selection (ie only play on tables that look weaker than average). This may lower a bit your expected win rate but that might be an advantage for people who appreciate to regularly play with the same players, as that makes note taking really valuable, like for "real" poker.
As for tourneys, there are micro games. For NLHE games, it starts with 0.01/0.02$ blinds. Something like a ten dollars deposit would be enough to try that games and see if the room suits you.
I'm confident that, given the quality of the software, the number of users will rise quite quickly.

Game variety
|
The choice in the game is extremely limited due to the still small number of players. Practically, only Holdem will be playable.
=>Texas holdhem: limit, pot limit and no limit. Like on any other room, PL tables are much fewer.
So that you get a feel of the number of games that are spread, i've counted the number of players seated on the NLHE tables (if someone's playing on 2 tables, it is counted twice). The count took place during late june 2006, at 8 pm EST. There would be a few more players 1 or 2 hours later.

As you may have noticed, for NLHE games, you will be able to multitable on a rather large range of limits: from 0.01/0.02 to 1/2.For NLHE 2/4, you will have to limit yourself to 1 or 2 tables to make a tad of table selection. For higher limits, you won't generally be able to multitable.
=>Omaha: limit and pot limit. Almost nobody, say 1 or 2 active low stakes tables. It's enough to play a few hands from time to time, no more.
=>Omaha HiLo: limit and pot limit. Limit is a no man's land. 3-4 active tables for PL.
=>7 card Stud: limit only. Not a single player!!!
|
Ease of competition
|
The overall level is low, but there may not be as many huge fishes than on Party.
The game if rather passive, and really loose (between 40 and 50% players see the flop for 6Max NLHE games), which make the games easily beatable.
The iPoker network has a good capacity of generating soft games since they recruit players with the PlayTech online casino and with aggressive promotional offers.

Software
|
I really like the software: ergonomic, nice looking and with almost all the little "plus" that we got used to with the other softwares.
=>Buddy List: double click on a player's name and add it to your buddy list. This list is used to store the name of the players you like to play with and so want to retrieve everytime you play. These buddies may be friends but they will most likely be fishes that you will stalk everywhere they go!
=>The research tool is fine, it doesn't allow people to hide (on Party, many click on the "Hide Me From Search" option, which makes the search tool lose much interest).
=>You can take notes on your opponents. Just double click on a player's name, a window will pop up (the same that allows you to add someone to your buddy list) and there you will write your note.
=>Entering betting amounts is intuitive: you enter an amount with the keyboard and then you press enter to make the bet (like on FullTilt and Pokerstars). On Party, you have to click on the bet button after you entered the bet amount. It's more intuitive and fast on iPoker but there's the risk you enter a wrong amount and press Enter by error.
I liked the all in button too. It's faster than entering a bet amount big enough to make you all in. You can suppress this all in button if you fear you may go all in by error.
=>When somebody's typing a message, not only does it appear in the chat box, but there's also a little bubble above that player with the message. This is a convenient way to read the chat while playing (as the chat is generally rather small for most softwares, the chat isn't much readable when it combines both players and game messages).
=>The table is a bit too big. That creates a bit of overlap on a 1600x1200 resolution if you are playing on 4 tables. The overlap is really small but i wonder why iPoker didn't use the same table size than almost all their competitors.
=>You won't be able to set up private games, unlike on Party and EuroBet.

Support
|
Support is 24/7.
I only had to deal with the support once. They were effective and helpful. When i opened my account, i immediatly made a deposit. Then i forgot that account and played elsewhere. That made me unable to clear my deposit bonus of 500$. I cashed out, emailed them to know if they could give me a new bonus and, as they agreed, i cashed in anew, played the required number of hands and pocketed the 500$ bonus. I have to say that Party would never have done the same thing for me (Party support is awful).

Bonus
|
Deposit bonuses depend on the room of the iPoker network.
As i'm writing that test, Noble grants you a 50% first deposit bonus capped to 250$, Cd a 50% bonus capped to 200 and Titan a 100% bonus capped to 500$.
Then, as you are playing on real money games (cash games or SNGs/tourneys), you will earn fidelity points (different name depending on the room: crowns on Noble, VIP on Titan).
I really appreciated that the bonus be released gradually (in 5$ pieces) rather than getting the whole bonus at the end. Each time you have earned a definite number of fidelity points, 5$ of the bonus are released in your account. So, if you are short a few hands from releasing the whole 500$ bonus, then at worst you would have got 495$. On PartyPoker, that would mean that not a single dollar of the bonus would have been credited to you!!
These points can be redeemed in various minor stuff (books, clothes, ipod, the choice is rather limited right now), monthly freerolls and special deposit bonuses.
On any room of the iPoker network, you will get 75$ each time you send them a player, this latter getting a free 25$.
To get these bonuses, you just have to download the software with any of the above banners (one for each room).
I'm gonna try to get from Titan a freeroll which would be reserved to us. So, once your account created, you can email me your login at
so that i add it to the list of the players who will be admitted to that free tourney.

Rake
|
The rake is at a standard 5% of the pot. It increases by small increments to a maximum of 3$.
But, on many tables, the maximal rake will be lower. On limit tables, up to 1/2$, the rake is capped to 1$. And, above all, the maximum rake will be lowered to 1$ on any table if there are only 2 or 3 players, and 2$ for 4 or 5 players, whatever the betting structure (limit, pot limit and no limit). For instance, on a 5 players table, with a 100$ pot, the rake will only be 2$,

Transactions
|
All classical ways of depositing/cashing out are available(credit card, check, bank transfer).
|
Suggested use
|
I recommend to open an account on Titan to take advantage of that whooping 100% first deposit capped to 500$.
Once the bonus released, it's up to you to decide if you want to stay on Titan for all the advantages reserved to regular player (tremendous deposit bonuses, freerolls with big prizepools etc) or open an account on a bigger room like PartyPoker.
With a Neteller account, you will be able to quickly transfer funds from a pokerroom to another one so that you take advantage of all the bonuses that you will be offered on your various poker accounts (bonus hunting should never be neglected).

A few screenshots:
This is your lobby. Here you cand find and choose games, go to the cashier etc..
Blue tables are french speaking tables. Their password is "mondial".
This is a cash game table on Noble. Only difference with Titan or Cd is the main color of the software.
As shows that table, regulars get huge deals on Titan (huge reload bonuses, monthly big prizepool freerolls etc), depending on the number of fidelity points they earned.
Above are the products that you will get if you redeem your crowns on Noble.
